Boris Johnson Resignation Watch Day 9: Farewell to Henley Letter

Wednesday 14th May 2008 · 1 Comment

Boris Johnson has a letter in this week’s Henley Standard bidding farewell to his constituents*:

"Were the people of London really going to go for a Conservative mayor?

"Well, they have. I am writing this from ex-Mayor Livingstone’s eyrie in City Hall, and it is time for Henley to find itself a new MP. It will be a huge wrench for me. I want to thank you all for putting up with me for what has been the seven happiest and most productive years of my professional life.

But still no actual application to the Treasury for the Manor of Northstead, meaning he remains the MP for Henley… He’s just said goodbye to them, that’s all.

1 week, 2 days, 14 hours and 20 minutes without a full-time MP for Henley so far…

* This link will probably be redundant by next week, judging from the address it points to.
