Hertsmere Borough Council* it would seem, who have retained Tribal Resourcing to help them find a new Chief Executive. The position has been vacant since October last year, when Eden Lee resigned following allegations of corruption for "personal/family reasons and to allow him to take his career in a different direction" (like away from gaol).
The campaign to recruit the latest burden on the taxpayer manager of a thriving Borough Council includes a lovingly-crafted, professionally-produced video shot on the set of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and online and print advertising. Two small questions: How much did all this cost and why on earth couldn’t it have been done in-house? I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I’m accusing you of hiking up council tax by 3.8% and then pissing it up the wall with vanity projects like this, it’s just I’d appreciate a small amount of caution before use our collective ten pound notes as toilet paper.
* Declaration of interest: I’m standing for election to the council this Thursday – Vote Gavin Whenman May 1st!
