Archant, the owner of the Ham and High, which caused a bit of a stir last week when they published a British National Party advert, will donate the BNP money to charity.
My favourite comment on this mountainous molehill has come from James Graham:
The paper appears to have confused the two concepts of “freedom of speech” and “suckee suckee - one dollar!” - to be fair, many people who lack a moral compass do.
Perhaps this latest move will absolve Archant of their Thai prostitute sin.
And it might just be my sick sense of irony, but I really want the BNP cash to go to Stonewall, the Immigration Advisory Service and the Muslim Council of Britain. Watching BNP activists turn purple with outrage when they discover their money is supporting these organisations will be worth the controversy originally generated by running the adverts.
